Going to the Chapel

Last year I noticed construction of a new chapel going up on the Wallace Marine property on Lake Rosseau.  I immediately thought maybe it was going to be a non-denominational chapel in support of the many weddings booked at the Red Leaves Resort right next door. Nope, it turns out to be the new home of Abbey’s Bake House opening this season. Looking forward to checking out the gooey butter tarts.

    Hello Kristi: We would like to tell you how much we enjoyed visiting the Abby Bakehouse this past weekend. The chapel is such a beautiful place to have the bakery!!! All of the baked goods we purchased were so delicious! We loved the onion and olive focaccia, date squares, butter tarts, bacon and asparagus quiche and scones! The staff were very friendly and helpful with all of my questions. It was certainly worth the drive from Ottawa! We we definitely be back again the next time we visit our relatives at their cottage. thanks again for the yummy treats!

    Did you all know that the owner of this church brought it all the over from
    the east coast! How cool is that. Saved another piece of history, and Lord
    knows the treats are awesome.

    Absolutely love the bakery and now need to shed a few pounds!! All of the baked goods are simply amazing…the best in the area by far! The sugar coated filled donuts are exact replicas of donuts made in Ireland and the U.K., ten times better than North American donuts! Perhaps these kind of donuts are native to the East Coast as well, but I have never had them anywhere except on the other side of the Atlantic. Fantastic! Would love it if they would make some with jam filling as well (hint hint 🙂
