The Ice is Out and a New Season Begins in Muskoka Canada
Well the ice has finally disappeared off the lakes in Muskoka. It won’t be long until we see the usual watercraft buzzing about. I found these two beauties shown below down a side road in front of an old cottage. It appears the sledding season has long been over for them. I did not know John Deere and Massey Ferguson even built snowmobiles. Please click on the photo to see 1280 pixel sized image.
John Deere and Massey Ferguson snow machines…that is interesting, I’ve never heard of them making show machines either. I wonder just how old these two are?
Nice to hear the ice is gone…we still have ice on the lake here…the ice is off Calendar Bay, and usually the lake is about a week later…
This weekend is supposed to be between 18C and 21C so that will definitly help!

The newer snow machines look quite different from these ones! Spending my first winter here meant we saw lots of them. It was a little strange seeing them parked in front of stores on main street and in line at the gas stations!
Looks like these 2 have been abandoned for a while…. Why would someone leave them on the side of the road? Mystery…
Massey’s were built starting in 1968. This one is about a 1975-76. This one was made by Scorpion.
