Waiting for the Big Thaw in Muskoka Canada
I usually like to have my boat in early however it appears like this guy will beat everyone to it this year. They must have hightailed it out of Muskoka back in the fall.
Taken near Bala, Ontario on Lake Muskoka near The Kee
I saw the path where the boat had been and wondered what had made it!
Our lake is just about thawed. I was out in the canoe around the shore yesterday, but the “ice” consists of shards on the top few cm. It ought to melt today!
I hope the ice hasn’t damaged it. The water level went up over 2 feet here and broke the ice away from shore. It careened around the lake like a flotilla of icebergs breaking off docks, swim rafts, buoys and anything it could sweep away including the anchors for many of the items. Now we see docks, rafts and buoys in the strangest places.
Oh dear..not a good idea to leave the boat over the winter!!
I like to enlarge your photos and look at them close up…did you notice the beer bottle in the left had corner, on the rocks??? :0)
Cheers
