James Lumbers, Twilight Cruise

I purchased this print many years ago by well known Canadian artist James Lumbers. The print still hangs in our cottage today. It is a scene that would have been once viewed from the road side in the early days of Gordon Bay Marine located on Lake Joseph in Muskoka. Years later Mr. Lumbers and I would become friends. We had the opportunity to travel together in Alberta.

Most Canadians have probably viewed Jim’s work at some point with his trademark “ghosting” reflecting memories from days gone by. If you are not familiar with Lumbers work I invite you to check it out here.

I am sending this on to my daughter as she has some of his numbered prints. Thanks for sharing.

I have been cottaging here since 1960. As a young boy from the north end of the lake i would hang out at the old gas dock fueling boats for free for a chance to ride in boats being test driven. My father { Jim Greenhalgh } and now me have been loyal customers of this Muskoka landmark right from the get go.
    Cheers to you Bruce
