Horsing Around Port Carling
I dropped by the annual Port Carling Winterfest this past weekend. I was hoping to have taken a photo of Mayor Alice Murphy participating in the Polar Bear dip however that was part of the next days festivities. I noticed these two beauties were giving people a jaunt around the park. They are Percheron horses from Mother Fuduckers Farm in nearby Orillia, Ontario. Please click for a large shot.
They are very cute, those horses, but they sure are giving you the hairy eyeball!
Love how the brilliant orange-red of their rigging contrasts the dreary weather and dark colours . Beauty, Ed! And I’m sorry you missed the polar bear dip, too. Love to see half-naked mayors jumping in the drink.
I don’t have a lot of experience being around horses. I must have rattled off about 50 photos and these two kept staring at me even when I moved to the sides. I am not sure if that is a good thing or not – LOL. They seem to have a higher intelligence and know something we don’t.
